MVC Rivals marching on in NLA 20/20

MVC Rivals remained the lone unbeaten team in the National Lotteries Authority Neil Williams 20/20 competition, following last weekend’s round of matches.{{more}}

Rivals crushed Victors Two by 87 runs. Rivals scored 141 for 5 off their 20 overs. Teran Harper, 42, Hyron Shallow, 32. Victors Two was shot out for 54.

Rivals also defeated Owia Stars by nine wickets. Owia Stars made 106, with Desron Lavia scoring 61. Mc Neil Morgan took 3 for 13, Casmond Walters, 2 for 14, and Shallow, 2 for 21. Rivals replied with 107 for 1. Shallow, 56 not out, and Harley Skerritt, 24 not out.

But defending champions Victors One lost out to AOL Boutique Radcliffe by two wickets.

Victors One made 106. Donson Andrews hit 49. Kenroy Martin 3 for 15, Dyke Cato, 2 for 22, Dellorn Johnson, 2 for 24. Radcliffe, 107 for 8. Martin, 35 not out.

Victors One, though, beat North Leeward by 60 runs. Victors One 156 for 5. Kenny Stapleton, 66, and Andrews, 33. North Leeward, 96. Rongel Small scored 29. There were two wickets apiece for Zimron Providence, Keiron Cottoy, and Alston Bobb.

In another match, Police One made 154. Rolando Wright hit 46, and Tarik Mc Neil, 44. Keswerth Lewis took 3 for 30. This represented the first hat trick in the three year competition. Victors Two was restricted to 128 for 6.

Unique Warriors posted 168 for 6. Christophe Campbell knocked 43 and Rodney Lawerence struck 37. North Leeward stopped at 152 for 8. Ronnique Laborde made 59 not out. Samuel Byam bagged 3 for 29 and Tarik Mc Neil, 2 for 26.

In back to back wins, Unique Warriors posted 115. Lawerence hit 57, as Zane Edwards snared 4 for 7. Neil Williams Academy was bowled out for 90. Mikhail Weekes made 34, as Darren Russell picked up 4 for 16 and Rudolph Daize, 3 for 14.

Also, Eat Rite Saints got to128 for 8. Sunil Ambris, 33, Kishore Shallow, 27. Jerome Samuel bagged 5 for 22, as Belmont in response was dismissed for 66.

Owia Stars made amends against the lawmen. Owia compiled 144 for 8. Auryn Lorraine topscored with 33. Police could only make 89. Oneil Thomas, 3 for 13, Desron Lavia, 2 for 21, and Mohammed Lavia, 2 for 30, were the main wicket takers.

And, Moses Douglas Radcliffe Two replying to Victors Two’s 98 was set a revised target of 74, which they reached with the loss of five wickets. Andy Harper led the way with 44. Rawlston Nanton took 4 for 24.

Michael St. Hillaire had earlier snared 4 for 13, bowling for Radcliffe Two.

Rivals, AOL Boutique Radcliffe, the News Spartans, Bequia Combined, Eat Rite Saints and Victors One have all advanced to the Quarter Final stage.(RT)
