Johnson powers up Radcliffe

A boundary filled century by former St. Vincent and the Grenadines Under-19 opener Delroy Johnson powered ECGC Radcliffe to defeat Police One by an innings and 43 runs. In the RBTT match played at Arnos Vale Two Playing Field, the barrel-chested Johnson took advantage of the short boundaries and scored 114, which included 12 fours and 6 sixes.{{more}} Ozni Billingy hit 45, Lynden James, 31, as Radcliffe totalled 273. Gerald Gould was the pick of the Police One’s bowling with 3 for 57, Osrick James, 2 for 60, and Oneil Thomas, 2 for 61. Radcliffe was responding to Police One’s 117. Oneil Thomas topscored with 44, and Maxian Richardson chimed in with 41. Drumo Toney took 3 for 10, Dyke Cato 3 for 36. Batting a second time, Police One was dismissed for 113. Parnell Browne was their topscorer with 36. Hezron Lawrence had figures of 5 for 46, Dyke Cato, 2 for 0, and Toney, 2 for 21.

In the Bottlers First Division, Log Enterprises Masters is once more running away with the title. Last weekend they defeated Radcliffe Two by nine wickets. Log Enterprises Masters posted 307. The consistent Bradley Brooker struck 46; Elson Crick made 43 not out, Peter Campbell, 42, and Montgomery Sealy, 33. Kaman Greene, 4 for 101, Haniff King, 3 for 16, and Jabari Johnson, 2 for 76, bowling for Radcliffe Two, who made 137. Andy Harper stroked 35, Greene made 32. Lynton Greaves, 4 for 41, Jimmy Sam, 3 for 27, and Elvis Browne, 2 for 34, bowling for Log Masters. In their second innings, Radcliffe reached 185. Verbert King, 35, Michael St. Hillaire, 23, Elvis Browne, 3 for 32, Elroy Nanton, 2 for 22, and 2, for 49, sharing the bowling spoils. Log Masters reached 18 for one, to take maximum points.

Belmont defeated Clico”A” Level College by an innings and 117 runs. Belmont 419 for 8 declared, with Jerome Samuel scoring 95, Curtis King hit 93 and Imran Samuel feasted with 71, in the run bounty. Desroy Debique, who snared 4 for 74 and Handel Prince, 2 for 91, were the schoolers best bowlers. Clico ‘A’ Level College was shot out for 87. Kenroy Lewis made 38, as Adolphus Campbell, 4 for 16, Jerome Samuel, 3 for 32, ran through their fragile batting. They fared better in their second innings, making 215. John Williams and Lewis topped their batting with 59 each. Shayne Alexander scored 40. Augustus Mofford had bowling figures of 3 for 48.

And completing a weekend of outright wins, Victors Two defeated C & J Construction ASCO by 3 wickets. C & J Construction ASCO posted 217, with Darron Greaves hitting 43, Kimani Thomas, 36, and Veron Bute, 32. Jeffrey Abraham had a handful of wickets, 5 for 50, and Roland Dasent, 2 for 32.

Victors Two scored 197. Liston Tesheira hit 37 and Jonel Neil, 29.

ASCO’s second innings of 128 saw Travis Cumberbatch making 28. Jeffrey Abraham bagged 5 for 29 and Jonel Neil, 3 for 14. Victors Two 197, Liston Tesheira, 37, and Neil, 29. Victors Two reached 129 for 7, winning by three wickets. (RT)
