Log Masters running away
Log Enterprises Masters are giving the other teams in the Bottlers First Division Cricket Competition a lesson in the rudiments of the game.{{more}}
Log Masters made up of players over 40 years old are again one of the top teams in that division and are out front in the current points standings.
Last weekend, they extended their lead at the top of the standings to 56 points from their four matches.
At the receiving end of Log Masters mastery were Unique Warriors, who lost by an innings and 27 runs.
Log Masters on the back of good scores from Lynton Greaves 41, Elson Crick 39 and Urias King 31, totalled 251 in their only innings. Samuel Byam 4 for 53, Omar Jack 3 for 37 and Samuel Holder 2 for 31 were the Warriorsâ most successful bowlers.
At their turn the Warriors were bowled out for 134, with Andre Hunte topscoring with 70. Aaron Bascombe 2 for 16 and Junior Bacchus 2 for 18 ensured that they did not surpass their teamâs total. Bascombe then bagged 5 for 27 to send the Warriors packing up for 90. Conroy Ryan topscored with 30 not out.
Also recording a convincing triumph in that division action were Saints B. But it was a come from behind one over Radcliffe Two.
Morrison Edwards with 34 led Radcliffeâs first innings total of 89, as Ramon Young destroyed their batting with 7 for 59. Saints were then bundled out for 75. Kavon Greene took 3 for 38. Young was again the pick of the bowlers as Radcliffe were dismissed for 156 in their second innings. He bagged 6 for 59, to end with match analysis of 12 for 118.
Needing 170 for victory Saints reached 171 for 6, with Keyon Peters making 55 and Kevin Lorraine 3 for 68.Edwards took 3 for 68 bowling for Radcliffe.
The other encounter in that division saw Victors Two taking full points from Smashers.
Led by 44 from the bat of Darron Russell, Smashers posted 131 in their first innings. Jerome Abraham was Victorsâ top bowler with 3 for 31. Victors responded with 121. Atticus Browne keeping up his good form made 51. Kevin Lewis had figures of 5 for 51 bowling for Smashers. Batting a second time Smashers folded for 88, with Lewis scoring 32. Jeffery Abraham 3 for 17 and Kevin Abraham 3 for 30 did the demolition job for Victors who reached 99 for 3, in a successful run chase.Javed Harry made 45 not out and Browne 30.
Like Log Masters in the first division, Victors One maintained their lead in the RBTT Premier Division.
Victors though could only gain first innings points from defending champion Police Two.
Police were mesmerised by the bowling of Donwell Hector who had another consecutive five wicket haul, this time 6 for 61, bowled out 185. Norlan Williams chipped in with 3 for 43.
Victors made 228 for 8 declared as Danson Andrews topscored with 85 and Renaldo Coombs assisting with 48. Oneil Thomas grabbed 5 for 56 and Malcovin Jack 3 for 43, bowling for the lawmen.
Police were 186 for 7 in their second innings, but not before Salvan Browne helped himself to triple figures. He made 106 to follow up his 32 in the first innings. Ian Allen took 3 for 56 and Keiron Cottoy as the match ended in a draw.
Rivals have closed the gap on Victors after they secured an outright win over St. Davidâs.
Rivals made 178, and then dismissed St. Davidâs for 72 and 90. Orlanzo Jackson and Rolando Wilkinson were the wreckers of St. Davidâs team. Jackson took 4 for 13 and Wilkinson 4 for 16 in St. Davidâs total of 72 .Jackson returned with 4 for 26 and Wilkinson 6 for 31 in their second innings of which the hard hitting Kenny Stapleton made 40.
