Parents express confidence in their wards’ CPEA performance
OPTIMISTIC, yet nervous parents who camped outside the examination centers awaiting for their children’s exit have expressed confidence that the efforts they have invested in their children will result in commendable results in the Caribbean Primary Exit Assessment examinations.
May 13, 2026 marked the first of the two-day national multiple choice examinations. On this day, a total of 1,766 students were registered to complete Mathematics and Social Studies, leaving dozens of family members and caretakers standing vigil outside of the premises awaiting their completion.
Yvette Williams was among dozens of parents waiting outside the St Martin’s Secondary School as her son Aiden Gumbs, of the Kingstown Government School completed his examinations.
She told SEARCHLIGHT that she was a bit excited and optimistic, and is looking forward to Aiden doing his best.
“…I know he is capable of doing what he has to do so…it’s just basically up to him right now. I have done my part, and it’s all up to him right now.”
