Teenaged murder accused gets bail in landmark ruling

A LONG-STANDING STATUTORY BARRIER was shattered in the High Court of Justice after a 16-year-old murder accused was granted a historic EC$25,000 bail.

The matter for Antonique Thomas was heard at the High Court of Justice before High Court Judge, Justice Gertel Thom.

Police investigative reports revealed that the 16-year-old allegedly struck 65-year-old Winston McMillan on the head with a two-by-four (2×4) piece of wood during a physical altercation.

Thomas was initially arrested and charged with attempted murder on April 13, 2026, following the altercation that took place on April 9, 2026, in Colonaire.
