Five for Taiwan

Five Vincentians have been awarded 2008 university scholarships from the Government of Taiwan.{{more}}

Of the five, four will be pursuing undergraduate programmes and one will work on her master’s degree. The undergraduates are Lemrua Shonique Samuel, Veronique Suneeta Anees Bailey, Mellessa Ballantyne, and Calvert Edwards. Adriana Sahsha King will pursue a graduate program.

The four undergraduates will pursue degrees in Microbiology, Chemical Engineering, Mass Communications, and Electrical Engineering, respectively, while King will be studying International Environmental Sustainable Development. They will leave for Taiwan this August.

During the first year, the students will undergo language training. The undergraduates will then undergo four more years of academic study, while there are two further academic years for graduate study.
