Chamber parking fee reduced
The hourly charge at the Chamber of Commerceâs car park has been reduced by 20 cents, coming down from the $2.50 it had been raised to after the implementation of the Value Added Tax (VAT).{{more}}
Newly elected Chamber President Jerry George made the announcement of the new rate of $2.30 an hour during a press conference last Tuesday, June 05.
George said that the new price reflects the increase which is required because of VAT.
âI believe it is very important that if you make an error that you admit that you made an error,â said George.
He said that the Chamber did not look at the issue carefully when the price was increased from $2.00 to $2.50.
He said that the Chamber is expected to set a proper example by recognizing that the change needed to be made and doing it. (KJ)
