14 secondary schools to battle in Drama Festival

FOURTEEN secondary schools will be competing in this year’s Cable & Wireless School’s Drama Festival.

Up for grabs will be awards in 12 categories including, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Director and Best Producer in the festival which starts Wednesday, November 15 at the Peace Memorial Hall.{{more}}

We are very pleased to be associated with Cable & Wireless in producing the annual schools drama festival for the third year. I know that the sponsorship will go a long way in helping to reduce the cost of the festival. Thanks to the management and staff of Cable & Wireless. They heard us when we called,” said Martin Quashie, Drama Development Officer in the Ministry of Culture.

It’s the third year that Cable & Wireless will be sponsoring the festival and its CEO Daryl Jackson said that “the future of St Vincent and the Grenadines lies within its young people. Drama is a powerful instrument that our students can use to express themselves in a constructive and meaningful way and we as a community focused organization have an obligation to help in the continued development of this art form.”
