Jomo Cato ties knot in Jamaica

Montego Bay – Attorney-at-Law Nateline Robb and Marketing Strategist Jomo Cato said: “I do” on Saturday, July 30, in a magnificent wedding that has raised the benchmark for signature events in Montego Bay. The wedding was the high point of a 5-day “Celebration of Love” in the resort city. Local residents and guests who flew in from New York, Florida, London and the Caribbean were feted in style over five days at various, dinners, lunches and parties over the weekend.

The lighthearted and intimate wedding ceremony took place at the beautifully decorated St.John’s Methodist Church on Humber Avenue in Montego Bay. The ceremony featured a union of the water where two vessels were poured into one to signify the union. The bridal party was stunning with the bridesmaids in mango and the groomsmen in classic black. From the Church guests traveled across town to the elegant Round Hill Resort for the wedding reception.

The 250 guests were welcomed to Round Hill with cocktails which took inspiration from the bride, and were named “Nateline’s Dream” and “Nateline’s Surprise”. Guests then made the walk along the scenic shoreline to the ocean front lawn for the dinner. It was here that wedding guru Paulette Henry transformed the setting into an awesomely magical experience, the mango colored thematic featured, an abundance of orchids, chandeliers, butterflies, a dance-floor strewn with rose petals, and delightful lights, that winked, darted and danced.

The bridal party entered the reception area in unconventional and exciting style dancing to the pulsing track of the Black Eyed Peas – “Let’s Get in Started”. As the guests rose from their seats to welcome the newly married couple, they went straight into their first dance to the heart touching “Speechless” a beautiful poem set to music by Michael Jackson.

Master of Ceremony Jeff Smith kept the energy level at a high. Best Man Allan Alexander, had guests rolling recounting the adventures shared with the groom. Maid of Honour Kim Robb/Bryan thanked the bride’s parents. Jomo and Nateline then said their thanks standing together in a symbolic gesture of unity. Nateline is the daughter of well known Montego Bay Attorney Nathan Robb and his lovely wife business-woman Jackie Robb. Jomo is the son of Laferne and Vincent Basil Cato of St.Vincent and Florida.

The guest list included friends and family from St.Vincent, Trinidad, Barbados, St.Lucia, Guyana Jamaica, England and the USA. Montego Bay’s prominent citizenry were in full attendance.

Seen from St. Vincent, Allan and Marcelle Alexander, Mother of the Groom Laferne Cato, Groom’s grandmother Germaine Rose, Richard Lewis, Selwyn ” the Indigenous Man” Prescott, from Miami Bert Alexander, from New York Attie Biddy, Attis Nichols, Keegan McMillan, Mindoo and Lana Cato Inniss, Antonia Rose.

Friends from the Caribbean and the couples circle at UWI included St.Lucia’s, Siobjhan Lloyd, Barbados’ Horace King, Trinidad’s Andre Corbie and Susan Yorkshire, Jamaicans Ian and Hope Stewart, Ron Young, Stacia Pinnock, Sean Griffith and Simone Pearson.
