I am enjoying my double life

Hey Rosie,

I am a 27-year-old guy with a degree, a good job, car and a nice place to live. The problem I am having is with my two girlfriends. Yes, two. Rosie, I know that this is wrong, but I cannot help it because I really like them for different reasons. My main girl is also college educated, attractive, comes from a good family, and everyone in my family knows her and likes her for me.{{more}} My side girl is just 19 years old. She is still in school and likes the things that I can give her. We meet up in secret spots where I feel no one would know us, and she is very exciting and carefree. She is also willing to experiment sexually (which is more than my other girlfriend is willing to do). So this keeps me coming back for more.

The problem is that I know that this is wrong and I should stop. But I am enjoying this double life and the excitement. What should I do?

Dear Double Agent,

Where do I start? It is YOU, not me, who keeps saying: “I know this is wrong.” You, not me. When are you going to start listening to your own common sense and inner voice?

You know, what concerns me is this 19-year-old. She is on the cusp of becoming an independent young lady, who more than likely is giving you some sort of “hero-worship” because of your age and the few trinkets that you give her. She also may think that she is in love with you and you with her. Poor thing, she doesn’t realize that she is only being used for her sexual openness (this is a great lesson to you young ladies out there who are reading this right now!).

Cut it out! You are obviously not very serious about being in any kind of long-term relationship with anyone at the moment and that is why you should just date. You are not ready to commit to anyone, so stop wasting their time. Please give these two relationships a break and do these ladies a favour by being as honest as you can. Let them know where you are in your life, and where they fit in.

Also, another important question: Are you being safe in your sexual escapades? With this sort of cloak and dagger life, I feel as though you may not be doing everything to ensure your safety. Need I remind you about AIDS, Herpes, along with all of the other “fun” diseases that can totally ruin your life? Not to mention an unwanted pregnancy?

Double Agent, check yourself. You are a smart young man who knows exactly what he is doing. I simply ask you to choose decency and honesty as you go forward from here. In the long run, you will not regret it, and it is the right thing to do. Who knows, you may one day find that one special woman who is the complete package for you and keeps you on your toes. Be good.
