Out Ah Trouble rein in another TBPO Softball Cricket title
Country Meet Town Out Ah Trouble made it three on the trot when they won the 2026 edition of the National Lotteries Authority TBPO Softball Cricket Competition.
The completion of the hattrick came on Sunday, August 16, at the Dauphine Playing Field, when they defeated former winners Sion Hill Tallawahs by 80 runs.
Out Ah Trouble posted 206 for 8 in their 20 overs, led by Jabari Cunningham’s with a six- laden 86, assisted by Imran Samuel 32 not out, and Deroy Strough 20 not out.
Bowling for Sion Hill Tallawahs, Teroy Roberts picked up 3 for 21, Marlon Baptiste 3 for 40 and Danwayne Baptiste 2 for 33.
Sion Hill Tallawahs’ response ended at 126 all out in 16.1 overs. Teroy Roberts scored 36 not out, while Alex Roberts and Bruce Henry each added 23.
Deroy Strough 3 for 10, Travis Cumberbatch 3 for 16, and Asif Hooper 2 for 28, were the successful bowlers for Out Ah Trouble.
Before Sunday’s final, Out Ah Trouble had to first overcome Owia Strikers when the two met in the semi-final on Saturday.
A 21-run win over their opponents gave Out Ah Trouble another shot at the title.
Out Ah Trouble scored 131 for 5 in 20 overs. Stein Joseph chalked up 52 not out, and Asif Hooper 26.
Cliffroy Hoyte snared 3 for 41, and Davidson Lavia 2 for 29, bowling for Owia Strikers, whose response was 110 all out in 18.5 overs. Sealroy Williams 42, and Desroy Lavia 22, led the unsuccessful chase.
Travis Cumberbatch 3 for 8, Davian Barnum 3 for 24, Deroy Strough 2 for 15, and Richie Richards 2 for 49, combined to unravel Owia Strikers’ batting.
Owia Strikers got some consolation when prior to the final, they registered a commanding 96 run win over Dr Thomas Injectors, to claim the third place.
Owia Strikers made 152 for 8 in 17 overs. Denson Hoyte 56, Kirton Lavia and Rohan Lavia, scored 27 apiece.
Bowling for Dr Thomas Injectors, Kentish Phillips bagged 3 for 25 and Tex Franklyn 2 for 24.
Denson Hoyte 4 for 7, Cliffroy Hoyte 3 for 16, and Davidson Lavia 2 for 1, combined to send Injectors packing for 56 all out in 10.3 overs. Rokeem Roberts top scored with 20.
For winning the title, Out Ah Trouble collected a trophy as well as $3,000. second place – Sion Hill Tallawahs got a trophy plus $1,500, while third place- Owia Strikers received a trophy along with $1,000, and Dr Thomas Injectors- a trophy and a $500 cash prize.
