Reliable Rides aims to be ‘a step above the rest’

Barrow Toby, the managing director of the newest automobile trading business in St Vincent and the Grenadines, says that his company intends to live up to its name.

Toby believes that Reliable Rides and Rentals, located at Arnos Vale at the rear of Trotman’s Depot, will meet the increasing need of the public for vehicles and automobile services and in time, become the local hub for all things automotive.{{more}}

Reliable Rides started with the vision and lifelong dream of of two brothers: Magavon and Barrow Toby. The well-travelled and hard-working men say their aim is to provide exceptional products and services to the public. Magavon, who resides in Canada, is active in decision making from a global standpoint, especially in relation to sourcing products, vehicles and keeping up with the trends.

The onsite operations are managed by Barrow, who is ably assisted by his wife Jinel and their small staff. He says the company, though young in a business sense, will grow from strength to strength, by efficiently offering a wide range of products and services to its customers.

“Our country is a developing country and we want to contribute to its positive growth. We are confident that we would be able to meet the needs of the people, whether it’s new or used vehicles, vehicle rentals, parts/accessories, and servicing for your vehicles,” he said.

Reliable Rides is a sister company to Reliable Construction (formerly known as Toby’s Blocks & Trucking), which provides heavy machinery and construction services.

“We are aiming for Reliable Rides to be a ‘one stop shop’ for persons who want all their automobile products and services in the same place, at very competitive prices,” Barrow Toby said.

Apart from the fleet of vehicles and wide range of automotive parts, tires and accessories on offer from Reliable Rides, customers may also have their vehicles serviced, washed and detailed at the site.

One service the brothers hope to offer very soon will be “drop off detailing,” where customers may drop their cars off on Friday mornings on their way to work, get taken to work on a shuttle and have a clean, detailed car returned to them at their workplace in time for the weekend.

Reliable Rides will also replace disc pads for customers, and if an item is not available in store, customers can have it ordered for them.

The Toby brothers believe that one of the company’s strengths is the one-on-one relationship that would be extended to each and every customer. Both brothers have decades of experience in the hospitality and service industry and firmly believe a happy customer will be a loyal customer.

“For example, if you see a vehicle out here and you are in love with it, but you might have some financial constraints, you can come to me and we work something out. I believe that you have to meet the customer halfway, since the satisfaction of the customer is the most important thing.

“Our company goal is to be efficient, convenient and affordable in all that we do and offer – a step above the rest!”

The company opened its doors last week with a small, but engaging ceremony, which saw the property and products being blessed by the Toby family pastor Ricardo Bascombe.

During the ceremony, which was attended by family, friends and well-wishers, pastor Bascombe exhorted the owners to give God the thanks for what they have received and what they have accomplished.

He urged them to be good stewards of what God has entrusted to them and also that they live up to their name and expectations.

Toby pointed out that as a God-fearing individual, he intends to conduct business to the best of his ability in an effort to bring maximum satisfaction to his customers and to his God.

“I know the Almighty will bless this business and that we will continue to grow from strength to strength. I want to thank God first and all the others who helped to make this dream come true for me and my family.

“It is our hope that pretty soon Reliable Rides and Rentals will become a household name, and the first place persons looking for vehicles, rentals and parts would come to, as time goes by,” Barrow said.
