Jay-Z, Leggy take North Leeward Soca crown

Jay-Z Lewis and Ezra “Leggy” Edwards earned first place in the 2026 North Leeward Soca Monarch competition, capturing the title with their performance of a song “SUI” at the Petit Bordel Secondary School Hard Court.

The competition, which held on Saturday, June 6, 2026, and continued into the early hours of Sunday morning, drew more than 17 artistes from across North Leeward and other communities.

In an interview with SEARCHLIGHT on Monday June 8, 2026 Lewis said “I did not expect to win but I had faith”. Lewis said that he entered the competition multiple times but never won.
