Kenroy ‘Bigman’ Grant laid to rest
Despite intermittent rain, and coinciding with the North Leeward Kids Carnival, many turned out to follow Kenroy “Bigman Grant last Saturday, May 30, 2026 on his final journey from the Mount Moriah Spiritual Baptist Church at Sharpes Village to the Fitzhughes cemetery accompanied by the New Arrivals folk band.
Grant’s innate body was discovered in a ditch at Richmond at the intersection leading to the Richmond Vale Academy and Trinity Waterfalls by a farmer early on Tuesday April 7, 2026. There was a beach splash the day before, and Grant was seen at various times throughout the day. After the police were informed and had secured the scene, the body was first identified by his co-workers at Reyneau Construction & Industrial Products which undertakes the mining operations at Richmond, as they had all been hanging out at the beach event and they recognized the company shirt he was wearing. Dian, Kenroy’s distraught mother, then arrived on the scene to make the formal identification in the presence of medical personnel, before the body was taken away.
Kenroy was half of a set of twins. His brother, Kelroy, died in a drowning incident at Rose Bank in 2008 when they were just 12 years old.
