Director of NEMO Howie Prince stated that the main objectives of the workshop are:

to provide participants with the knowledge and skills needed to conduct an initial rapid needs assessment of the incident scene; to teach participants the techniques for safely moving an injured patient to and from the incident scene; to teach participants to recognize critical or urgent versus non-urgent patients; to encourage participants to work in tandem with local health resources; and to provide participants with the skills and knowledge needed to conduct training activities with the assistance of standardized materials provided.

The workshop is being held at NEMO’s Conference Room, Old Montrose, beginning at 8:30 a.m. daily.
