French team in SVG making film on harvesting of pilot whale

A team from the Government of France’s Public Information Department is currently in St Vincent and the Grenadines to film a documentary on the tradition and history of the harvesting of the pilot whale.{{more}}

The four-member delegation will reside in Barrouallie during the course of this week, and are expected to interact with local fishers.

The visit to St Vincent and the Grenadines is part of a Caribbean tour by the team, to showcase the manner in which the regional seascape continues to influence livelihood.

A courtesy call was made on the Minister of Agriculture Saboto Caesar, during which the showcasing of agro-tourism in St Vincent and the Grenadines and traditional agricultural practices were discussed.

The team’s visit is facilitated by Alliance Française. They are expected to leave the state on September 21, 2013.
