Springer seeks assistance

An appeal is being made to the general public to make donations to offset the medical expenses of an outstanding public servant.{{more}}

Forestry Officer Fitzroy Springer has recently been diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma, a form of cancer.

Springer has been a public servant for the past 27 years. A graduate of Kent University, U.K, he is a Forestry Officer with the responsibility for Wildlife Management.

He can be considered the ‘father’ of the conservation programme for the St. Vincent Parrot, Amazona guildingii.

Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma is not treatable in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and so Springer will be seeking medical attention overseas. He is, therefore, seeking assistance to offset his medical expenses.

The staff of the Forestry Department is assisting in raising funds to enable him this life-saving opportunity. Anyone wishing to make a donation to support our colleague can do so at the Forestry Department in Camden Park.

Donations can also be made at THE BANK OF NOVA SCOTIA, Halifax Street, St. Vincent. Swift Code: NOSCVCVC; Transit: 13375; Beneficiary A/C: 19741.
