Mr Cyrus’s love for humanity shone through all else – Ambassador Andrea Bowman

On learning of the passing of ‘Mr Cyrus’, my second message to his first child Helen in as many days, read as follows:

‘I do love your father; not just because he reminds me so much of my own, but because his clear-sighted, indomitable intellect and his love for humanity shone through all else’.

Mr Cyrus indulged my desire to refer to him as my surrogate father by signing his books to me with the words, ‘my daughter…’. Our moments together were precious and timeless. I was honoured to write reviews on two of his books. His service to St Vincent and the Grenadines, the Caribbean, the world, has left us with a harvest richer than gold.
