Twenty-three named in Vincy Heat CNL squad
Twenty three players have been named in the St Vincent and the Grenadines senior men’s team, Vincy Heat, for the four matches in Belize- September 26 to October 6, 2026- in the Concacaf Nations League (CNL).
Named in the squad are goal keepers- Anthony Lewis, Garwin Davis and Lemus Christopher.
Seven defenders in Andrew Johnson, Tristan Marshall, Kirtney Franklyn, Dimitri Thomas, Nigel Charles, Jordon Ragguette and Joseph Barter.
They go along with eight midfielders in Shemron Phillips, Malcolm Stewart, Ted Roberts, Diel Spring, Kennijah Joseph, Micah Joseph, Jahva Audain, and Bishon Richards.
The forwards are Oalex Anderson, Steven Pierre, Cory Durrant-Barbour, Cornelius Stewart and Azhino Solomon, complete the list.
Vincy Heat opens their Group D campaign of League B, on September 26, versus French Guiana at the FFB Stadium in Belmopan.
Three days later, on September 29, Vincy Heat meets the host nation Belize, and on October 3, they take on St Maarten.
Vincy Heat closes off their September/ October sojourn with another meeting against St Maarten.
The group stage will conclude in November here in St Vincent and the Grenadines with the remaining matches, inclusive of the Vincy Heat reverse fixtures against French Guiana and Belize.
Should the Vincentian unit top the group, a place in the 2027 Concacaf Gold Cup and promotion to League A on the next edition of the CNL are assured.
When St Vincent and the Grenadines competed in the 2024 CNL, they placed second place to El Salvador.
A consolation play-off against Jamaica was Vincy Heat’s other gateway to the 2025 Gold Cup.
After a 1-1 draw with the Jamaicans in the first leg, Vincy Heat lost 0-3 in the return match in Jamaica.
