National Archers shoot Olympic distance in local competition
RAYON CLARKE, Karen Palmer,Vanburn Harry, Alexys Liverpool and Kobi Branch claimed titles when the Archery Association of St Vincent and the Grenadines Inc staged its 2026 National Outdoor Championships, on Saturday, September 5, at the National Archery Range, Belair.
Clarke won Men’s 70-m Recurve title, leaving Ian Gibson to settle for silver.
Meanwhile Karen Palmer secured gold in the Women’s 70-m Recurve, with Richol Richards, taking the silver. It was the first time at the national level that local archers were shooting at 70-m, which is an Olympic distance.
Vanburn Harry took the Men’s Recurve Development 50-m gold ahead of Adrian Parris who earned silver; the bronze went to Tristan Ballah.
Alexys Liverpool secured the 30-m Recurve Beginner Combined, while Dreden Lewis pouched the silver, and Garvanique Walters the bronze.
Kobi Branch took gold in the Barebow Beginner 30-m, with Kris Simmons being the silver medallist.
Archers will now take aim at upcoming regional competitions.
