Roderick John named MVP of TBPO Softball Cricket Tournament
Roderick John scored two centuries- 101 off 34 balls, and 147 from 33 balls-hit 55 sixes and amassed 416 runs, hence was the Most Valuable Player in the 2026 National Lotteries Authority TBPO Softball Cricket competition.
John was the toast of the competition’s closing and presentation ceremony, on Sunday, August 16 at the Dauphine Playing Field, as those who stood out were recognized.
He was among five other century makers. The others were Delano Woodley of Greiggs Young Stars; Kentish Phillips of Dr Thomas Injectors; Asquith Mapp, Bank of SVG All Stars; Glendon James, Greiggs Young Stars; and Kemani Thomas of Dauphine United.
Meanwhile, Country Meet Town Out Ah Trouble’s Travis Cumberbatch grabbed the most wickets- 17.
Also rewarded were three bowlers who took five wickets or more in an inning ; Akeel Jack of Greggs Young Stars (5 for 31); Sealron Williams of Owia Strikers( 6 for 7); and Sion Hill Tallawahs’ Alex Roberts who bagged 6 for 10.
Adjudged to have taken the Best Catch was Nicholas Holder of Dauphine United, with Greiggs Young Stars’ player, Kevon Phillips, name the Most Promising Player, and Greiggs Young Stars coming being the Most Disciplined Team.
Out Ah Trouble won Zone A, and Bank of SVG All Stars won Zone B.
