Teachers Credit Union increases annual scholarships
THE St.Vincent and the Grenadines Teachers Co-operative Credit Union (SVGTCCU) expanded its annual educational outreach this week, increasing the number of scholarships by four, and awarding academic honours to Naailah Stevenson, Micah Adams, T’Niyah Stapleton, Joyanne Derrick, MeshellYoung, Ravion Derrick, Aaden Gordon, Jenna Garraway, and Nathan Williams.
The presentation ceremony, held on August 11, 2026 at the SVGTCCU Kingstown headquarters also saw Divine Williams, Shafika Cato,Tashcana McNicholls, Josette Bibby, and Malvern Chewitt receiving bursaries from the credit union.
The scholarship holders recognition awards were presented to Gabriella Defreitas, Miles Durrant, Ivana Lewis, Alyssa Theobalds. Roel Diamond, Amara Stowe and Blossom Mc Calmon.
The financial institution increased its primary school scholarships by four recipients this year, committing to a total long-term scholarship payout of EC$12,000 per student over a consecutive seven-year period. The funds will support the students term-by-term through secondary school, and two years of higher education at the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College.
Addressing the gathering, Vice President of the SVGTCCU Board, Brenford Findlay, noted that this year’s awardees represent a geographically diverse spread, reaching deep into rural communities and the Southern Grenadines.
