Football Coach Michael Findlay says he’s here to serve

While the newly installed head coach of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Senior men’s football team, Canadian Michael Findlay holds that substantive post and holds responsibility for development of the national Under-20 and Under-23 male players, he plans to ensure his wide knowledge is shared.

Findlay made this known when he was presented to the media on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at the at the Grenadines Football Federation’s conference room.

“I know we’re all talking about the senior men’s team and the successes that people have through patient sleep, promotion, all about qualification. But coach development is an essential part and a priority for this proposal.

Not my specific role, but in terms of supporting that one hundred percent,” Findlay pointed out.

As part of the mandate during his 24-month, Findlay is charged with guiding St Vincent and the Grenadines to the 2027 Gold Cup, along with League A promotion in the Concacaf Nations, and giving the country the best shot at the 2030 Fifa World Cup qualification.

Findlay, however, believes that he can contribute at the lower levels as well, as he considers himself a coach who likes a “project”.

“I will support any level within this system which includes the club system, because the coach development system is going to help the club system. The club system is going to develop the players. We now find those players for international clubs. My vision is about building a great community in football. We need to tie the entire thing together,” Findlay added.
