SVG falters in Windwards Super- 50 final
ST.VINCENT AND THE Grenadines’ senior men’s cricket team failed on their final hurdle to lift the 2026 Winlott Inc Super 50 title, losing to Dominica in the final played on August 3, at the Tanteen Playing Field in Grenada.
Dominica posted 248 all out from 44.3 overs.
Earsinho Fontaine made 90 and Stephan Pascal, 57.
Kenneth Dember was the pick of the Vincentian bowlers taking 3 for 22.
St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG), after being well placed, were dismissed for 227 in 40.4 overs.
Ethan Gibson 58, was the top scorer for the Vincentians, while Micah Joseph took 4 for 29 and Jedd Joseph 3 for 51 for Dominica who won by 21 runs.
The Vincentians were tipped to take the title, following commanding wins against Grenada and St Lucia, and their match versus Dominica ending in a no decision because of rain.
They defeated Grenada by 57 runs.
St Vincent and the Grenadines accumulated 264 for 8 from 26 overs. Jaheil Walters contributed 63 and Dillon Douglas 50. Preston Mc Sween picked up 2 for 34.
Grenada scored 198 for 9 from their 26 overs as the match was reduced because of rain.
Daniel Mc Donald scored 50. Benniton Stapleton snared 3 for 24 and Kodi Grant 3 for 41.
And versus St Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines came away victors by three wickets.
St Lucia posted 236 all out from 37.3 overs. Jaden Elibox slammed 75 and Stephen Naitram 66.
Bowling for SVG Kodi Grant had 3 for 46.
The Vincentians slashed 237 for 7 from 35.4 overs with Keron Cottoy making 58 and Sunil Ambris, 33.
Elibox took 2 for 37.
