Loukhya Premraj gains five stars at National TT Championships

LOUKHYA PREMRAJ emerged the star of the 2026 National Table Tennis. Championships, leading the Spencer’s Table Tennis Club(STTC) and winning all titles at stake.

At the conclusion of the championship When the championships Saturday, July 26, at the NDP Headquarters, Premraj had pouched five titles: four individual and one doubles. The first secured was the Girls 13 and Under, as Premraj beat Myra Laborde in the finals 11-2, 11-3.

She then repeated the Girls 15 and Under singles to her list, again leaving Myra Laborde as runner-up, winning 11-2, 11-0 and Derise Baptiste 11-3, 11-3 in a round-robin format.

Premraj also upped the age group to beat Jessica McCarter 11-4, 11-5, to capture the Girls Under-19 title.

Premraj further swished Myra Laborde 11-1,11-0 in one half of the semis, while Mc Carter outdid Monecia John 11-8, 11-4.

There was no stopping Premraj as she trumped Jessica McCarter 11-2, 1311, 11-7, 11-7, to take the Senior Women’s crown.

En route to her fourth title, Premraj defeated Shanecia Delpesche 12-10, 11-7, 11-8, while McCarter beat Monecia John 11-6 ,11-5, 11-8.

In the Mixed Doubles Finals, Premraj joined forces with Jelani Cumberbatch, to beat Shanecia Delpesche and Sean Stanley 11-9 ,9-11, 8-11, 11-2, 11-8.

The Semifinals saw Cumberbatch and Premraj overcoming Mikael Hazelwood and Jessica McCarter 11-6 ,9-11,11- 4, while Stanley and Delpesche ousted Romano Spencer and Raynesha John 9-11, 11-7, 11-8.

Spencer and John beat Hazelwood and McCarter 11-7, 11-8, 11-9, to win third place Outside what was a virtual Loukhya Premraj Show, Oran-Jay Williams won the Boys 13 and Under title over Khalil King in the finals, 11- 5, 11-5.

Williams had earlier beaten Jordan Hypolite 11-3, 11-3 while King beat Rajveer Premraj 11-6, 11-9 in the semi- final match ups.

Rajveer Premraj beat Jordan Hypolite 11-7, 11-7 to take the third place.

Likewise,Wiiliams beat Juvante Baptiste 11-7 ,118, 11-4 to capture the Boys 15 and Under title. In the semis, he beat Zaid Martin 11-9, 11-1 while Baptiste side-stepped Khalil King 11-9, 11-4.

Martin beat King 8-11, 11-8, 11-6, 12-10, to secure third place.

Lamont Gregg beat Joshua Simmons 11-5 ,115, 11-6 to claim the Boys Under-19 crown.

Before taking the title, Gregg beat Oran-Jay Williams 11/9 ,11/3, 11/9 and Simmons beat Macahlie Hazelwood 11/9, 4/11, 11/7, in semifinals play.

Williams had an 11/13, 11/9, 11/13, 11/5, 11/5 win over Hazelwood, to win the third- place trophy.

In the Senior Open Men Finals, Romano Spencer champed beating Sean Stanley in the finals: 11-7 ,11-7 ,8-11, 11-9.

In the Semis, Spencer beat former champion -Damion Dublin 11-5, 12-10, 11-9, while Stanley did the same to the 2025 winner Lamont Gregg 11-6 ,11-7, 11-4.

Gregg beat Damion Dublin 7-11, 11-6 9-11, 11-7, 11-8 to win the third place, to secure eleven titles for STTC.

The championships which got going on July 18, also had matches being played at the St Vincent Grammar School’s Auditorium.
