First female SVG Cricket Commentator receives accolades from Tourism Minister
AT THE JULY 2, 2026 sitting of the House of Parliament, Minister of Tourism, Civil Aviation, and Sustainable Development, Kishore Shallow, highlighted Vincentian Stacyann Adams’ groundbreaking achievement as St.Vincent and the Grenadines’ first female Test Cricket Commentator.
In his remarks, Shallow described Adams’ accomplishment as a significant milestone, not only for the sport of Cricket, but also for the nation as a whole.
He praised her dedication, professionalism, and perseverance, highlighting her journey from a promising young broadcaster to earning recognition on the international stage.
The Minister of Tourism said Adams, a customs officer from Cemetery Hill, Kingstown, has steadily built a reputation in sports broadcasting through her passion, knowledge of the game, and commitment to excellence. Shallow, himself a cricketer of some note, said her appointment as a Test Cricket commentator marks a historic first for St Vincent and the Grenadines, particularly for young women seeking to
break barriers in traditionally male- dominated fields. The tourism minister recalled first noticing Adams approximately six or seven years ago during a cricket commentary training seminar. He said her talent and enthusiasm distinguished her from her peers even then, and he expressed pride in witnessing her continued growth and success over the years.
The minister said her success reflects positively on St Vincent and the Grenadines. (API)
