Grammar School bags 12 medals at Island Showdown
THE STVINCENT Grammar School ended the 2026 Island Showdown, a schools’ Track and Field championships, held at the Hasely Crawford Stadium in Trinidad and Tobago on July 7 and 8 with 12 medals.
The all-male institution copped five gold, four silver and three bronze medals at the championships that also involved schools from other parts of the Caribbean Region.
Leading the gold count was Ethan Kent who won the Under-15 high jump and long Jump.
The Grammar School’s under-15 relay team comprising Tyler Hercules, Aaron Baisden, Amari Horne and Malique Maloney won the 4 x 100 metres and the 4x 200-m; while Baisden pouched the 400-m.
Baisden earned a silver in the 200-m.
Jomain Ollivierre gained silver in the Under-17 high jump and triple jump, with the quartet taking silver in the Under-17 4 x 400-m.
Kobe Olliverre won bronze in 1500-m open, as well as the 800-m; while the under-17 4 x 200-m team took bronze.
