Roban clocks #2 at US Grand Prix Track Meet
A CLOCKING OF 1:45.32 in the Men’s Xfinity 800m A final at the US Track and Field, Los Angeles Grand Prix, landed top Vincentian middle distance athlete Handal Roban, a silver medal.
Staged on June 14,2026 at the Allyson Felix Field at Katherine B Loker Track Stadium, Los Angeles, California, USA, Roban trailed American Brandon Miller, to the finish line. Miller won the event in 1:43.49.
Roban’s time at the Los Angeles Grand Prix was a major improvement on his 1:46.87, achieved at the Lone Star Grand Prix, on June 6.
Roban, St Vincent and the Grenadines’ all- time 800 meters record holder with a time of 1:42.87 continues to add to the national records. He is the custodian of the Indoor 600-m, 800-m and 1000m; the outdoor 1500-m, as well as the 800-m and 1500-m at the Under-20 age group.
