Local swim coaches get sprint training
TEN LOCAL SWIM coaches were part of a five- day training course that focused on the sprint events.
The course, staged at the Shrewsbury Aquatic Centre from June 11 to 15, 2026, was conducted by Trinidadian Dexter Browne.
Using a blended approach, the course featured practical pool-based sessions along with classroom sessions where the theoretical component was taught.
Browne thus imparted knowledge and skills from his many years of coaching. Browne has coached one of his country’s most successful swimmers- Olympian-Dylan Carter.
The course formed part of the St.Vincent and the Grenadines Swimming Federation’s capacity building programme geared at strengthening its coaching and stock, thereby supporting swimmer development and coaching education.
The course was made possible thanks to Olympic Solidarity, the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Olympic Committee, and World Aquatics.
