Dauphine upstages Out Ah Trouble in TBPO Softball Cricket
DAUPHINE UNITED registered an eight run win over Country Meet Town Out Ah Trouble to kick the weekend’s action in the National Lotteries Authority TBPO 20/20 Softball Cricket Competition at the Dauphine Playing Field.
Dauphine United made 120 for 7 in 20 overs: Juwan Laborde scored 27, and Asborne Franklyn made 23 not out, Bowling for Out Ah Trouble, Richie Richards and Travis Cumberbatch each took 2 for 24.
The potent Out Ah Trouble batting had a power failure this time and were dismissed for 112 in 19.3 overs.
Javid Harry led with 56. Danroy Hazel 3 for 32, Nicholas Holder 2 for 6, and MacLean Browne 2 for 36, engineered Dauphine United’s win with the ball.
In Saturday’s second match, Fairbaine United beat Older Boys by five wickets.
Older Boys reached 94 for 3 in 12 overs, as the match was reduced because of a late start. Ovando Obrian 50, and Deron Henry 22, were the main batters, whilst Christon Williams scalped 2 for 8.
In response, Fairbaine United made 97 for 5 in 10.4 overs; Christon Williams was 18 not out.
Sunday’s schedule got off to a bad start as East Kingstown forfeited their fixture to Owia Strikers.
However, in the second match, Owia Strikers powered past Duck Squad by 175 runs.
In Owia Strikers’ 208, Sealroy Williams stroked 89 not out, Zaniel Baptiste 45, and Sealron Williams 32.
Dante Williams with 2 for 24, was Duck Squad United’s most successful bowler.
Sealron Williams with the amazing figures of 6 for 7, routed Duck Squad United for 33 in 11.2 overs.
And, Bank of SVG All Stars outdid RS Production Kombat Warriors by 41 runs.
All Stars made 146 for 8 in 20 overs;Roderick John 35, Kelly Murry 34 not out, and Courtney McDowall 24.
Bowling for Kombat Warriors, Kerwin Browne picked up 3 for 14, Donalson Harry 3 for 29, and Kamal Jackson 2 for 28.
Kombat Warriors reached 105 all out in 17.3 overs, with Lesroy Richards striking 22.
Kelly Murray had 3 for 35, Courtney Mc Dowall 2 for 11, and Kellique Samuel 2 for 22, to see All Stars over the line.
