Renson Haynes is new Manager of National Sports Council
The Ministry of Youth, Sports, Culture and Creative Industries has announced the appointment of Renson Haynes as the new manager of the National Sports Council (NSC).
Minister of Sports, Kaschaka Cupid said in a release that Haynes brings extensive leadership, management, operational, and project administration experience to the role, having built a distinguished professional career in the United States within the fields of construction management, engineering administration, and large-scale project coordination.
A graduate of Central Connecticut State University with a BSc in Construction Management, Haynes is said to have served in several senior leadership capacities, including director of engineering and construction management at Andre John Architects in North Carolina, and assistant director of construction and engineering administration at the prestigious Lincoln Center in New York.
“Throughout his career, he has overseen multimillion-dollar projects, managed operational teams, coordinated procurement and budgeting processes, and maintained strong stakeholder engagement and organizational oversight,” the minister’s release also states.
He noted that in addition to Haynes’ professional accomplishments, the new manager possesses a strong sporting background having represented St. Vincent and the Grenadines at the national level in football, and previously serving as manager of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Senior Men’s National Football Team from 2021 to 2022. He was also a longstanding member of the national team between 2001 and 2010.
The minister has welcomed Haynes’ appointment and expressed confidence in his ability. Haynes replaces Nixon McLean.
