SV United lands another National Football Title
The Georgetown-based club, Spring Village (SV) United’s roller coaster ride in national Football, experienced another high last Sunday, May 23, 2026, when they champed the Tier Two title of the 2025/2026 St Vincent and the Grenadines Football Federation’s National Club Championships.
A 2-1 downing of Sparta FC, at the Brighton Playing Field, landed SV United another lien on a national Football title, adding to the several gained at the community leagues.
Goals by Davarno Sutton and Akram Edwards were enough to ward off Sparta’s lone goal from Suenalli Richards.
Hence, SV United added titles won in 2013 and 2023, but moreover the cub returns to Tier One, which constitutes the Vincy Soccer Premier League (VSPL).
SV United was relegated for the 2025/2026 championships after finishing ninth in the Tier One in 2024/2025. Not new to demotion, SV United suffered a similar fate after the 2019/2020 edition.
Whilst, SV United is returning to familiar ground, it will be new territory for Sparta.
Both SV United and Sparta will be part of the next VSPL edition, as the ninth and tenth placed clubs will head to Tier Two.
Already, long standing Avenues United has been relegated from the VSPL.
