Sage Williams set for sub-regional Cycling debut

Sage Williams, a Vincentian residing in Barbados, will this Sunday, May 31, 2026, make his debut when he competes at the Antigua and Barbuda Workers Union’s (ABWU) Invitational Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) Cycling Championships.

Williams who is listed as the lone Vincentian representative in the Youth Category, is one of the four comprising the St Vincent and the Grenadines team.

The others are Zefal Bailey and Lucky Antrobus in the Elite Category, and Desron Bynoe, the Masters.

Like Williams, Bynoe is based in Barbados.

Other than the four cyclists, a management team comprising Emmerson Holder- Manager, along with officials- Peter Durrant and Michael Ollivierre, complete the St Vincent and the Grenadines contingent.

Sunday’s race is set to ride off at 7:00 a.m; the sub-regional cyclists ride off from the Old Parham Road, through Airport Road, Coolidge, Hodges Bay, Cedar Grove, Friars Hill Road, to the capital St John’s, before finishing where they began.

Most OECS countries are expected to be part of the championships, which were last held in 2019.
