Two centuries highlight TBPO Softball weekend
Centuries by Delano Woodley and Asquith Mapp on Sunday, May 17, were the highlights of the first full weekend of the 2026 National Lotteries Authority TBPO 20/20 Softball Cricket Competition played at the Dauphine Playing Field.
In Sunday’s first encounter, Greiggs Young Stars won by 43 runs over AIA Reload. Greiggs Young Stars posted 172 for 4 in 20 overs. Woodley struck 115 to register the first century of the 2026 edition.
Bowling for AIA Reload, Adolph Adams scalped 2 for 18. AIA Reload reached 129 all out in 16.3 overs with Zeron Harry making 20.
Akeel Jack 5 for 31, and Emroy James 2 for 26, ensured Greiggs Young Stars’ triumph with the ball.
Then, BOSVG All Stars won by 151 runs over Vinlec Power Stars.
All Stars made 239 for 5 in 16 overs, led by Mapp’s 107, and Roderick John’s 69.
For Vinlec Power Stars, Kelroy Edwards picked up 3 for 50.
Vinlec Power Stars reached 88 for 8 in 16 overs. Kevin Small scored 35, and Dale Michael 26, whilst Kody Horne took 3 for 7 for the victors.
Sunday’s third match, saw Older Boys registering a 154 run trumping of Dauphine United.
Older Boys racked up 245 for 6 in 20 overs.Terrance Patterson 92, Sheldon Dasouza 58, Joel Patterson 24 and Ovando O’ Brien 20.
Bowling for Dauphine United, Asborne Franklyn had 2 for 52.
Dauphine United responded with 91 all out in 14 overs; Julian Toby scored 34.
Sheldon Nanton 4 for 22, Terrance Baptiste 2 for 7, and Carlton Baptiste 2 for 37, were the main wicket takers for Older Boys.
Before Sunday’s centuries, two matches were played on Saturday, May 16.
First up, Owia Strikers recorded an eight-wicket win over RS Productions Kombat Warriors.
Kombat Warriors posted 105 for 9 in 17 overs; Shamron Bailey posted 18.
Bowling for Owia Strikers, Clifford Hoyte had 2 for 14, Kirton Lavia 2 for 2, and Sealron Williams 2 for 27.
In reply Owia Strikers made 106 for 2 in 11.3 overs. Hyron Shallow scored 28, Sealroy Williams 27 not out, and Desron Maloney 23 not out.
Saturday’s second match saw Out- Ah -Trouble overcoming Sion Hill Tallawahs by eight wickets.
Sion Hill Tallawah batted first and made 146 all out in 19.4 overs.Shamic Roberts 33, Teroy Roberts 32, Alex Roberts 29 and Manley Duncan 25 were the batters of note.
Travis Cumberbatch 3 for 34, Asif Hooper 3 for 44, and Alwayne Quashie 2 for 21, were the most successful bowlers for Out- Ah- Trouble, who then responded with 148 for 2 in 13.5 overs.
Jabari Cunningham led with 67 not out and Renrick Williams contributed 47.
