NPC-SVG adding more trained and certified personnel
THE NATIONAL Paralympic Committee, St Vincent and the Grenadines (NPC-SVG) continues to ensure that it has trained personnel to lead its charge, with the certification of Sonja Arthur.
Arthur represented the organisation at the fourth hosting of the AmPC Women in Para Sport Summit held from May 1 to 3, 2026 in Aruba.
St Vincent and the Grenadines’ lone representative was among 41 participants from 29 countries.
Giving an insight on the summit, Arthur told SEARCHLIGHT “The main aim of the conference was to introduce women from different countries to that awareness of opportunities to develop and grow in workspaces, encouraging them to realise their worth”.
She noted that the Summit was worthy for the women not only in sports, but elsewhere in other spheres of life.
“It was especially beneficial for women in the workforce as it gives us not only ideas but tools to achieve set goals,” Arthur highlighted.
The revelation of women occupying key positions in organisations, was identified by Arthur as her biggest take away from the summit.
“The summit highlighted that in some governing boards there are more women in high positions than is currently known, but exists in male dominated organisations,” Arthur beamed.
With her certification, Arthur now expands the number of personnel who the NPC- SVG has at its disposal.
