Kia Prince is First Vice President of Caribbean Guardians
TWO MONTHS AFTER attaining the FIFA Guardians Safeguarding Football diploma,Vincentian Kia Prince, has found herself in the regional limelight.
This, after she was voted in as First Vice President of the Caribbean Guardians. Prince is second in command to Trinidadian Gary St Rose, who is the organisation’s president.
Slotted in as Second Vice- President is Merere Gonzales of Trinidad and Tobago, and Third Vice President is Crystal Walters of Jamaica.
Part of the mandate of the Caribbean Guardians organisation is to promote awareness and advocacy campaigns, and facilitate knowledge sharing among Caribbean nations, as well as deliver safeguarding training and certification programmes along with supporting policy development and implementation.
Prince is the Safeguarding Manager of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Football Federation and is a member of the Safe Sports Commission of the SVG Olympic Committee.
Locally, Prince will play a lead role in ensuring that all national sporting associations, federations or unions, have in place at least one trained and certified Safety Officer.
