Transport and Works lifts Business Houses Small Goal Football title
Transport and Works was on Sunday, April 26, installed as champions of the 2026 Comsports Business Houses Seven-a-side Small Goal Competition.
AIA Combined’s Dshawn Kydd copped the Most Goals award
Staged at the Comsports facility at Arnos Vale, Transport and Works recorded a 3-0 win over Argyle International Airport (AIA) Combined, thus earning them the winner’s trophy as well as $1,500.
A first half goal from Player of the final, Roberto James, was followed by late strikes from Cleous Codougan and Cole De Bique, as Transport and Works became the fifth title holders in as many editions of the competition.
Transport and Works’ claim to the title followed that of the CWSA in 2022, RSVG Police- 2023, AIA Combined in 2024, and E.D Laynes in 2025.
Before Sunday’s final, Transport and Works and AIA Combined surmounted their semi-final opponents in contrasting style on Friday, April 24, 2026.
Transport and Works overcame E.D Laynes 2-0 on penalties after the two played to a stalemate, while AIA Combined had a 2-1 win over Customs. E.D Laynes took the third place without a sweat as Sunday’s planned decider did not materialize as Customs was unable to field a team.
The dethroned champions thus earned $400, and second placed AIA Combined took away $800. Both teams also received trophies.
AIA Combined’s Dshawn Kydd copped the Most Goals award, for his five goals. The four semi-finalists were part of a 10-team competition that also included Vinlec, CK Greaves, ACADO, Coreas, St Vincent Brewery and ECGC.
One member of each of the teams was awarded a Most Valuable Player trophy.
