Five secondary schools participate in Volleyball Festival
The St Vincent Grammar School pouched the male segment, while the George Stephens Secondary captured the female component when the Division of Sports within the Ministry of Youth, Sports, Culture and the Creative Industries hosted a Schools’ Volleyball Festival on Friday, April 24, 2026, at the Girl’s High School hard court.

The Grammar School defeated the Georgetown Secondary 25-21 in the final, reversing the 15-25 defeat handed down in the preliminary round.
Likewise, the George Stephens Secondary avenged the nail-biting 24-25 loss in the preliminary to stop the Girl’s High School, 25-17 in the decider.
George Stephens took third place among the males with a 25-20 win over Thomas Saunders Secondary, but Thomas Saunders’ females ensured a top three placement, when they defeated Georgetown 25-22 leaving them to settle for the fourth place.
The festival was hosted as a filler for a planned full-fledged competition that was set for term two.
Additionally, the festival provided selectors with another opportunity to scout for players to represent St Vincent and the Grenadines in the 2026 Windward Islands Schools’ Games in St Lucia in late July.
