St Vincent Grammar School off to Penn Relays
The St Vincent Grammar School is the lone Vincentian outfit to compete at the 2026 Penn Relays in the Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, USA.
Set for Franklin Field from April 23 to 25, the all-male institution will be represented by six athletes at the 130th hosting of the famed Relays.
The team, which departed SVG on Saturday, April 18, comprises Serani Roban, Nasari Nash, Tylon Da Costa, Denrique Davis, Kobe Ollivierre and Kmali Arthur.
Justine Douglas and Rawlson Morgan, travelled as Team Manager and Coach, respectively.
The Grammar School is set to compete in the 4×100 and 4×400 meter events. At the 2025 showing of the Penn Relays, the St Vincent Grammar School reached the international finals of the 4×100-m.
The quartet of Desroi Quammie, Nash, Roban, and Jeremy Martin timed 42.55 seconds to finish seventh in the final.
That clocking remains the best showing by the school in what was then their fourth time participating in the Penn Relays which dates back to 1895.
At the 2025 Penn Relays, St Vincent and the Grenadines had its largest representation, with the Thomas Saunders Secondary and first timers the Emmanuel High Mesopotamia represented.
The Thomas Saunders Secondary is the pioneer for Vincentian participation, having made its debut at the 2011 edition of the Relays.
