Four secure multiple titles at Easter Junior Tennis Tournament
When the St Vincent and the Grenadines Tennis Association (SVGTA) hosted its 2026 Easter Tournament, April 7 to 10 at the National Tennis Centre, Villa, there were four multiple winners.
Danelle Kennedy became a triple winner by trumping the Girls Under-16 and Under-18 singles titles, over Olivia Aussi and Ebiwarebo Griffith, respectively.
Kennedy, in unison with Madissen Gonsalves took the Under-18 doubles, beating Sky Cato and Griffith in the final.
Aussi joined the multiple winners group, as he was crowned the Under-14 singles champion, ousting Zahra Hypolite for the title. Aussi then combined with Zhordanne Jack trumping over Nakayda Cain and Amaia Waterstone, to win the Under-14 doubles.
Likewise, Kole Inniss won from Judah Abbott to scoop the Boys Under-14 singles and added the doubles in that age group, when he and Isiah Smart won from Rio Marks-Dasent and Zion Bayfield- Grant.
Also, pouching two titles was Jaiden Bowens, who stepped up to win the Boys Under-18 singles over Akquin Johnson, and along with Angelo Morgan, took the Under-18 Doubles title at the expense of Khaled Hope and Keython Gaymes.
For Bowens, it was big comeback, as he was out of the sport for the better part of two years, because of an injury.
Other winners included Amaia Waterstone who won the Girls Under-12 singles, with Nakayda Cain placing second.
Zion Byfield- Grant took the Boys Under-12 title over Judah Abbott, while Akquin Johnson took the Boys Under-16 title ahead of Aaron Baisden.
Other than the age group winners, organisers bestowed accolades on Zion Reece and Shenia Edwards for their sportsmanship throughout the four days of the tournament.
