​Primary schools athletics semi-finals tomorrow

Primary School athletes gather tomorrow, Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at the Sir Vincent Beache Stadium, Diamond for the semi-finals of the 2025 Inter-Primary Schools Athletics Championships.

Tomorrow’s semi-finals comes after four zonal qualifiers were held: Zone A at the Chili Playing Field on February 18; Zone B at the Victoria Park on February 25; Zone C at the Campden Park Playing Field on February 20; and Zone D at the Sion Hill Playing Field on February 27, 2025.

The top four athletes from each zonal qualifier in the 600 meters and relays are the ones making it to Wednesday’s semi-finals; while the top eight athletes from each zonal qualifier will compete in the other events. All the ball throws were straight finals.

Sixty-two primary schools competed in the four zonal qualifiers, with scores of student athletes contesting in 40 events in each qualifier.

In the March 20, 2024, championships, the Stephanie Browne Primary School dethroned the 2023 champions, Kingstown Preparatory School, to take the championship title.
