Table Tennis Association to elect Executive Tomorrow

Members of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Tennis Association (SVGTA) will tomorrow January 25, 2025, set out to elect an executive to administer the affairs of the sport for the next four years.

The election of the seven officers: President, Vice- President, Secretary- General, Treasurer, Public Relations

Officer (PRO) and the two Ex Members, is the lone agenda item of the General Meeting, set for 9:00 a.m. It will take place at the conference room of Murray’s Heights Hotel, Mc Kies Hill.

Tomorrow’s meeting comes on the heels of a previous one held at the same venue on October 5, 2024, that ended in a stalemate, over membership. Last October’s meeting, called to address the “elective term”, was attended by a wide cross -section of persons, but failed to achieve much as discussions were centred on the matter of the procedure for persons obtaining membership of the Association.

As it stands, anyone seeking to become a member of the SVGTA, must put in writing his/her interest.

Thereafter, the executive of the SVGTA has six months to process the application, and can either grant or deny membership.

At the conclusion of the October meeting, most of the persons present listed their names as willing to gain membership to the SVGTA, with the association’s President, Brian Nash, confidently stating that their application will be looked into.

Nash at a General Council Meeting of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Olympic Committee on November 16, 2024, at Paradise Inn, Villa, assured affiliates present and the executive of the SVGOC, that there will be no restrictions to members, when the elections are called.
