SVG Rugby Union President honoured by RAN appointment

President of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Rugby Union, Dellon Durrant is honoured by his September 25, 2024, appointment to the Rugby Americas North (RAN) Player Welfare and Safeguarding Committee.

“I am deeply honoured to be selected to serve on the RAN Player Welfare and Safeguarding Committee…this role provides a unique opportunity to contribute to the safety and well-being of athletes across the region…I am committed to ensuring that our players are protected, supported, and empowered both on and off the field,” Durrant said in a release from the SVG Rugby Union.

The RAN Player Welfare and Safeguarding Committee focuses on creating and implementing policies that prioritize the health and safety of players. With a mandate to improve the standards of player care, the committee is dedicated to safeguarding athletes from injury and ensuring a safe sporting environment.

As a World Rugby Educator and the National Women’s Rugby Sevens Coach for St Vincent and the Grenadines, Durrant has been instrumental in fostering safe and inclusive environments for players of all ages and skill levels.
