Salvan Browne opens Masters Cricket century account

Former St Vincent and the Grenadines and Windwards opener,Salvan Browne, hit an even century not out for Police, as the 2024 SVG Masters 20/20 Cricket tournament bowled off last weekend.

Browne’s hundred helped his team defeat Hope Pastures by four wickets on Sunday 29, at the Sion Hill Playing Field. Police, chasing 157 to win, reached the target, losing six wickets in the process and had two overs to spare. Rohan Ash was the most successful bowler for Hope Pastures, taking 2 for 26. When Hope Pastures batted, Ash led with 72, and Deptor Culzac, 38, to post 156 for 5 from their 20 overs. Parnel Browne picked up 2 for 21. However, it was Mustique Company that came up with two wins on the weekend. On Saturday, Mustique Company trounced Strokes Masters at Sion Hill by 113 runs.

Mustique Company scored 186 for 5 off 20 overs. Drumo Toney 52 , Roy Baptiste 37 not out, and Chadwick Carrington 26. Hugh Toby took 2 for 34. Strokes Masters made 73 all out off 17.4 overs. Hugh Toby made 22. Winston Granderson picked up 2 for 10 and Roy Baptiste 2 for 11.

Then on Sunday, at Cumberland, Mustique Company defeated North Leeward by nine runs. Mustique Company scored 87 for 3 off 10 overs, as the match was reduced to 10 overs per side because of rain. Drumo Toney

led with 28 not out. North Leeward made 78 for 4 off their 10 overs; William Edwards scored 29.

North Leeward though, had defeated Sion Hill the day prior at the Buccament Bay Playing Field.

Sion Hill scored 71 all out off 13.1 overs. Arrington Burgin hit 30, while Reginald Jeffrey bagged 4 for 11.

North Leeward replied with 75 for 5 from 9.4 overs. William Edwards hit 27.

Also on Saturday, Cato Heavy Equipment Premium Products Glamorgan beat Park Hill by seven wickets at Stubbs. Park Hill scored 128 for 3 off their 20 overs, as Shacky James top scored with 58.

McNeil Morgan scalped 3 for 22, and Gershum Dick took 3 for 25.

In reply, Glamorgan made 129 for 3. McNeil Morgan lashed 67 not out, and Selwyn Caine 29 not out.

Meanwhile, on Sunday at Stubbs, North East defeated GECCU Stanley Browne Stubbs by 22 runs.

North East scored 163 for 9 off 20 overs. Renrick Williams made 47, and Vibert Sampson 40.

Bowling for Stubbs, Rickey Thomas ha 4 for 52 and Theo Wallace 2 for 32.

GECCU Stanley Browne Stubbs responded with 141 all out from their 20 overs. Kissinger Mc Lean struck 76. Renrick Williams got 3 wickets for 41; Hollis John 2 for 25; with Emron Lorraine and Marcus Castello, each taking 2 for 29.
