Vincy Jewels aiming to regain sub-regional Netball title

The St Vincent and the Grenadines Senior Female Netball team this Sunday, September 22, begin their quest to retake the OECS netball title, symbol of netball supremacy in the Eastern Caribbean sub-region. The Vincy Jewels team will be among others from the sub-region at the 2024 Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) Invitational Netball Series to be played in Saint Lucia, from September 21 – 30, 2024.

Vincy Jewels, under the guidance of coach, Natasha Baptiste, will play their first game against Dominica at the Beausejour Indoor Facility from 8:00 p.m., and their second against Anguilla the following day, Monday, September 23 at 5:00 p.m. They then play Antigua and Barbuda on Tuesday, 24 at 5:00 p.m., and then take on hosts Saint Lucia on Wednesday, September 25, at 8:00 p.m- their fourth game.

The Vincentians then clash with Montserrat at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday September 26. Friday 27 is a free day for players and officials at the tournament. The Caymans Islands are the next Vincy Jewels opponents on Saturday morning, September 28, at 11:30 a.m.; the Vincentians will meet defending champions, Grenada at 6:30 p.m on Sunday, September 29 in their seventh and final game.

The closing ceremony follows after Sunday’s final game of the tournament, at which the outstanding players will be awarded individual prizes, and the championship team crowned.
