System Three, KFC and United Force win Breakaway Football titles

System Three won both the Women’s and Under-19 males; KFC Strikers took the Firms Division; and United Force, the Male Under-17, of the 2024 Breakaway Masters Organisation’s Invitational Football Competition.

KFC Strikers – Firms Division champions

Played at the Richmond Hill Playing Field from June 8, with breaks for Carnival and the aftermath of Hurricane Beryl, this year’s edition ended last Saturday, September 14, 2024.

Before Saturday’s conclusion, System Three had taken the Women’s title, having the better of Je Belle, 3-1 in the best of five play-offs as they were the only entrants. Likewise, United Force took the Under-17 title, ahead of Je Belle and Volcanoes, who were second and third respectively.

Meanwhile System Three took the Under-19s, defeating Je Belle 3-2 on penalty kicks, after both had played to a stalemate. Roxdale placed third.

And, in the Firms Final, KFC Strikers were sizzling hot over the Argyle International Airport (AIA), defeating them 2-0, thus getting their first taste of the title. For their efforts the top places in the Women’s and Under-17 Divisions, received trophies and medals; but the Under-19s and Firms Divisions, were awarded with cash prizes.

Hence, System Three received $1000; Je Belle, $700; and Roxdale, $300; while KFC Strikers collected $1,500; AIA $1,000; and RSVG Police, $500.

Thirty teams- 14 in the Firms Division, 10 in the Under-19, six in the Under-17, and two in the Women’s Division, competed for honours.
