Shafiqua Maloney coming home for ‘rest and relaxation’

St Vincent and the Grenadines Shafiqua Maloney is expected to touch down on home soil today, September 18.

This will be her first appearance in SVG since her stellar performance at the recently concluded Paris Olympics last month, where she placed fourth in the Women’s 800m Final.

During the competition she was able to set a new national 800m record and made history as the first Vincentian to ever advance to an Olympic final.

Shafiqua’s updated fans on social media with plans for her arrival in SVG telling them,

“St.Vincent and the Grenadines, I am heading home to you today, what better way to offload and reset?”

Maloney will be arriving at the Argyle International Airport this afternoon where she will participate in a press conference.
