Tennis Association hosts successful youth camp
The St Vincent and the Grenadines Tennis Association( SVGTA) successfully hosted a camp that brought together more than 100 young Tennis players, most of them first timers.
Involving children from age 4 and up, the two week camp, saw participation from various communities across the mainland.
Secretary of the SVGTA, Janelle Humphrey deemed the camp, which ended on July 25, a success.
Humphrey, who also was one of the coaches at the camp, said she was happy with the enthusiasm and interest of the young players.
“Overall it was worth the while as many of them were just introduced to the sport, and at the end of the camp, they were playing Tennis,” Humphrey concluded, noting that there was help from staff at the Division of Sports which contributed to the camp’s success.
“..the final day was shared by having a rainbow picnic, where the participants descended on the National Tennis Centre at Villa, where they brought snacks that represented the colour they chose and that capped off everything,” said Humphrey who said they all are looking forward anxiously to the next Summer Camp.
