Summer netball series gets going today

THE 2024 Summer Netball Series gets going today, Friday August 9, 2024 at the Nutricia Netball Centre, New Montrose, with matches involving the Vincy Jewels Youths; the Vincy Jewels Seniors; the Vincy Warriors male team; and the Maraval Netball Youth Club of Trinidad and Tobago.

President of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Netball Association, Natasha Baptiste explained that “These games are primarily geared at improving the competitiveness of the players and also forms part of the selection process as we prepare for the ECCB International Netball Series in September in Saint Lucia”.

She said the netball players have been training for some months now focussing on fitness and it’s time for them to begin the game aspects of their preparation.

“We are once again looking at different preparation methods so that we can get the best out of our athletes,” Baptiste said.

In today’s opening matches, at 5:30 p.m, the Vincy Jewels Youths will take on the Maraval Netball Youth Club, and at 6:30 p.m, it will be the Vincy

Jewels Seniors versus the Vincy Warriors.

On Saturday August 10, at 5:30 p.m, the Maraval Netball Youth Club and the Vincy Jewels Youths will do battle, while the Vincy Warriors male netball team will clash with the Vincy Jewels Seniors at 6:30 p.m.

Sunday August 11, 2024 will see the Police Youth Club Netball Team taking on the Maraval Netball Youth Club, and at 6:30 p.m, it will be the third and final game in the series between the Vincy Jewels Seniors and the Vincy Warriors male team.
