Mc Donald pouches bronze at Caribbean Karate Championships

VINCENTIAN, Aaron Mc Donald, made good of St Vincent and the Grenadines’ first -time participation in the World Karate Federation by landing a medal.

Mc Donald, who is the male Under-15 Kata champion in St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG), took bronze at the Sixth World Karate Federation Championships held at the Sentro Deportivo Korsou, in Curacao from July 8-14, 2024.

Showing his wares in the 14-15 age group, Mc Donald shared bronze with Valentino Evans of Jamaica.

Peso Polanco of Puerto Rico took gold in the event, and Trinidadian, Landon Batson, copped silver.

Accompanying Mc Donald to the Curacao championships was Adrian Shallow, who served as coach/manager.

Following his medal winning effort in Curacao, Mc Donald headed to Guyana to be part of the SVG contingent to the Karate Daigaku World Cup that began on July 15 and ends on Sunday, July 21, 2024.
